Installing iFindMobile but not receiving ANY text messages with download link
Solution

Installing iFindMobile but not receiving any text message with download link

If the initial text message was not received FindWhere offers the option to resend the text message making use of a different operator. Chances are that this secondary text message will be received on your mobile phone. If however you did not receive the “Resend Text Message” containing the iFindMobile download link on your mobile phone then  please proceed with the following:

  • Open your mobile phone browser

  • On your mobile phone browser please visit the following URL: http://m.findwhere.com/downloads/

  • The download directory will load and display the applicable iFindMobile application for your type of phone..

  • When prompted on screen to download the iFindMobile application please confirm and proceed with downloading.

  •  The application will download and your phone will confirm when done

  • Visit the download / application directory on your Mobile phone and find the iFindMobile icon

  • Click the icon to start the installation wizard

When the installation wizard starts you will be asked to confirm each step as follows:

  • Accept the privacy statement

  • Confirm to send a text message to our FindWhere server for registration purposes

  • Confirm Auto startup of the application

  • Get the first GPS location, this can take a couple of minutes and is faster when in clear view of the sky. To proceed without a GPS signal select “cancel” twice and iFind Mobile will use GSM Cell ID locations until it is able to retrieve a GPS signal

  • Confirm it's ok to Send locations to FindWhere’s central server

  • Select your Access Point (APN) to connect to the internet. Some models do not display this step as the application picks up the APN automatically

  • Confirmation the installation

Your application is now installed and operational, however there is one final step before the installation is completed . To identify your mobile phone in the FindWhere database we will need your so called “FMID” number. This FMID number can be found directly in the iFindMobile application. To enable your iFindMobile application please proceed with the following steps:

· Visit the following URL: http://www.findwhere.com/resend-fmid.php

· Start the iFindMobile application on your mobile phone

· Select the iFindMobile settings menu

· Select the ABOUT screen and write down your FMID number

· Submit your Country

· Submit your mobile number

· Submit your FMID number

· Click the Submit button.

The FindWhere database will now be updated with your FMID number. On the application itself, after the on screen counter has expired, you will see the logo change from RED to GREEN or BLUE. You have now installed the application correctly and location reports are received.

For further information please refer to the quickstart or the user guide under the download section for further assistance.
